Trish Peng debuted the collection at New York Bridal Week 2019 in front of World media and International buyers. The response was absolutely incredible and left the industry wondering how no one had thought of this idea before.

The made to order gowns are available in every silhouette, they can be worn both ways, and brides can even select their own lace.

Trish Peng was inspired to create the collection after one of her brides couldn’t decide whether she wanted a plain dress or a lace dress. The result was to do both – flip it and reverse it!

“The collection was quite technical to create as no one in the industry has attempted a reversible bridal gown before. When I couldn’t find a zipper supplier to do reversible zips, only finding chunky sleeping bag zips, I came up with the idea to hand stitch two zips on each side to form a supportive bodice,” says Trish Peng.

All gowns can be found at Trish Peng’s Auckland boutique and select stockists across New Zealand & USA.

Inspiration

The idea for the world’s first wedding dress was sparked when Trish was designing a wedding dress for our client Aleisha who simply couldn’t decide between a lace or a plain dress,

Trish, having a can-do attitude offered to make a two in one incorporating both fabrics into the design

Our team of tailors then worked out how to make it, using two invisible zips sewn in to each side

How To Wear

With a reversible wedding dress, you can impress your guests by wearing your dress two different ways.

Many of our brides wear the plain side down the isle, paired with one of our Pearl veils to add a touch of glamour and then change into the lace side for the reception

Fabric

We have thought of it all!

When designing the collection, Trish chose lace fabrics that are able to be worn against the body, so that it doesn’t cause irritation

To keep the underside of the dress clean (so you can flip it reverse it), we add ties under the dress so the other side can be rolled up and kept clean and unwrinkled.
