How did you meet?
Josh and I met at an advertising industry event when we were both working in the media industry and ended up talking half the night about all things geek which we totally bonded over. I believe our first conversation was about a video game - should tell you a lot about us.

When and where did you get married?
When and where did you get married? We were married on the 19th of February (luckily in between the two lockdowns!) at Mudbrick Vineyard on Waiheke Island

The theme/aesthetic for your big day:
Honestly, we just tried to keep things simple - we're not big on fuss, we just wanted to make sure there were little bits of "us" thrown in here and there. Which is why we had all the bridesmaids and groomsmen enter to theme songs from our favourite geeky movies, Star Wars and Harry Potter to name a few.

The biggest source of inspiration while planning your wedding:
I think the biggest inspiration was the two of us and what we love and enjoy. So everything was focused around having a laugh, having a great glass of wine, and eating beautiful food.

The most memorable moment from your day:

There were so many stand out moments, but one I think that summarises us would be when we were taken off by our photographer to do photos as a couple. We were taken up to the rooftop above the Mudbrick restaurant, where our photographer tried to get some fun pics by asking us to just practice our first dance. In that moment we quickly realised that with all the covid lockdown announcements and stress we had completely forgotten to practice one! So we quickly made up a minute long dance and informed all the bridesmaids and groomsmen that after the "dip" we had no more dance moves, so that's when they needed to bolt it for the dancefloor!

Did you always have an idea in mind of what you wanted your dress to look like?

I had absolutely no clue what I wanted my dress to look like, which was terrifying going into the process of finding one. You become so overwhelmed which is why I was so thankful to Trish and Ashleigh who made the process so easy. They make you feel right at home and I could not recommend them more!

The biggest hit on the dance floor was:

Castle on the Hill - Ed Sheeran (always a banger)

We honeymooned in: Unfortunately lockdowns have meant we haven't actually had a honeymoon or even a minimoon, but we're hopeful for a month or more in Japan when things open up.
